The word Reiki is composed of two Japanese words – Rei (meaning universal life force or god force) and Ki (life or universal force). It is better known as spiritually guided ki or life force.
I am attuned to advanced practitioner level.
Reiki is a Japanese technique for stress reduction and relaxation that also promotes healing. It is administered by “laying on hands” and is based on the idea that an unseen “life force energy” flows through us and is what causes us to be alive. If one’s “life force energy” is low, then we are more likely to get sick or feel stress, and if it is high, we are more capable of being happy and healthy.
Combined Massage and Reiki
I use reiki with your consent during my treatments. The reiki flow is through my hands and these can feel warm to the touch when working on the body. I will ask for your intent before the treatment begins. Intent is what you would like to receive from the treatment/healing. It can be anything from a feeling of peace or happiness or if you are worried about something or feel a physical discomfort somewhere within the body to allow for the energy to flow there.
Reiki on it’s own
I can offer a reiki treatment on it’s own if this is something that you would like. You do not have to remove anything for a reiki treatment. You can lie on the treatment table, you will have warm covers and I place my hands on the chakra points to allow the reiki energy to flow. A treatment will always finish with my hands on your feet. This is grounding and a comfortable feeling of feet planted on the earth.
